North Shore arts Alliance

In 2007, a group of artists from Westfield, Fredonia, and Forestville (Thomas Annear, Audrey Dowling, James Hoggard, Susan Mackay, Tom Malinoski, and Nancy Nixon) began working on the idea of creating an arts alliance.

Their original vision focused on building a community of artists, providing a social and professional network in which to discuss their work, and enhancing opportunities to exhibit art in the community.

The group’s first major effort, the Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail (CLEAT) was launched in 2009 and quickly became the North Shore Arts Alliance’s signature event. The Art Trail is an open studio tour that currently includes 22 working artists in a variety of disciplines. It is held Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend.

In addition to the Art Trail, our primary goal is to help promote the arts and artists of our region and to serve as a professional resource for them.

To that end, the North Shore Arts Alliance creates opportunities for artists to exhibit and sell their work, and offers professional development and training sessions, networking events, teaching opportunities, and avenues through which to partner and collaborate with area businesses and other not-for-profit organizations.

This year’s Art Trail dates for the Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail 2020 have been changed and will now be September 5th.and 6th. from 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
